Extra Virgin Coconut Oil- Lubricate Your Body’s Engine

Coconut oil, made of medium chain triglycerides (MCT), does not require extra enzymes for digestion and absorption and, as such, can be immediately converted by the body into energy. For those with chronic conditions or those who have trouble digesting fats, this is great news! Coconut oil not only gives your body the energy it needs to fight chronic conditions, it helps your body get the nutrients it needs while aiding your digestive system. And because coconut oil is easier to metabolize, it may play a role in weight loss. Farmers in the 1940s used coconut oil to attempt to fatten their herds. Instead, the animals became lean, active, and hungry!

so it says. It’s anti-microbrial which should help cleanse and I’ve read good things about “Alpha-lipoic acid” as well. Try to avoid simple sugars (sweets), processed foods containing Gluten. Many people confuse the acne with external factors when it’s just the body’s way of releasing excess internal toxins

I have tried coconut oil, but whenever I consume it (also tea, dark chocolate, brussel sprouts, cabbage) my thyroid? pulsates rapidly. I have purchased several high quality extra virgin coconut products and spent months oftrial and error and when I do not consume coconut (also other produce mentioned earlier) there is no racing pulse. Does this mean that I have a sensitivity to the chemical (lauric acid) in coconuts? Anybody else have this problem?

since coconut oil’s good, how about coconut milk? I love vegetables cooked with coconut milk, will that be okay or I could jump my cholesterol high if I will do that. My mom also loves coconut milk but we asked her to stop it since it may raise her cholesterol high, was this just a myth or truth. Please answer. Thanks

That coconut oil raises cholesterol is actually a myth. In fact it is a myth that saturated fats raise cholesterol. Coconut oil and coconut milk are both very good foods.

I dont think its an allergic reaction, Coconut oil is known to balance out the thyroid function, they hyper activity in ur thyroid is the coconut oil working to create that balance, i dont think its bad for u, i have read some testimonials who have said the same thing, if u keep up with it eventually it will stop being hyper. thats what ive read anyway.

Since it is known to clear infections, could it be possible that you were herxing as a result of a die-off of microbes?. It would be well worth it to let a neurologist check for any infection in the spinal fluid. There are doctors beginning to suspect that Parkinsons, Alzheimers, MS and others are a result of having a long standing infection in the CSF. Dont want to scare you, but i thought i ,d speak my mind.

Hi can you tell me how to best use coconut oil internally and externally? I suffer from acne, it sux.

    • JigsawHealth

      Hi mobilelizard,

Im sorry about that, I can identify! Actually though, Ive never tried coconut oil for addressing acne so Im not sure.

I did find a site where there are a lot of people talking about it… search Acne Org Coconut Oil Reviews

Our Probiotics and Omega 3 have been helpful for some people, so you may be interested in reading about those.

      Good luck to you!

Well that is partly true with regards to coconut oil, which can raise HDL but lower LDL. As for saturated fats some do tend to raise cholesterol (LDL and HDL) in some people but the MYTH is that raising cholesterol is a bad thing. Some of the worlds healthiest people have “high” cholesterol.

Coconut oil when digested produces anti-fungal compounds which kills off yeast overgrowth. Dying yeast release neurotoxins which are known to cause panic attacks racing heart and “palpitations”. Also coconut oil balances and usually increases the metabolic rate which after many years of suppression from a bad diet can cause a racing heart and insomnia. These symptoms will pass over time as your body flushes, heals, and balances.

Saturated fats are unhealthy but coconut oil has medium chained fatty acids which is healthier than the longer chained fatty acids.

dumb question! does extra virgin coconut oil have to be refridgerated? i have some that i’ve kept in the fridge because the container said to, and its a hassle to liquefy enough to use (i cook with it as well as use it in my hair). today the lady at the vitamin shop where i buy it from said you dont have to refrigerate it, so instead of being solid it will be liquid or like a cream. but is that safe? i mean if you use as much as i do it goes quickly

    • JigsawHealth

It actually doesn’t have to be refrigerated to be safe…the lady at your vitamin shop is right. I just keep mine in the pantry so that it stays liquefied, as that’s how I like it too.

I am a big supporter of Coconut oil I buy the Organic Virgin Oil and eat with it and use it for tattoo care, I know a few rice cake nazis that are ignorant enough to deep fry with Olive oil who think coconut oil is a big hoax and the irony is funny because as much as these women eat rice cakes and salad and aspartame all day they never lose weight at all.

I love Old Fashion Oatmeal (not instant) with 1/2 tsp of Organic EV Coconut Oil. Better for you than butter and taste great.

You know, I love the taste of VCO. Love it. It adds a lovely flavor to things. I started cooking with it yesterday. I haven’t had panic attacks in months. But HOLY CROW did I have a doozy yesterday and today. I realize it could be from yeast die off but…..I ate a lot less of it today and my panic attack was worse. I’m also very crabby. Any thoughts?
