I remember this back in Belize. My cousin’s grandmother made coconut oil for a living in Belize & when we visited there you could smell the coconut oil cooking all the time. She made hers in a big vat over a fire heart. So I know that smell was all over the house & probably driving your kids crazy =)?

Wow how awesome guys! That’s fantastic. I have 2 questions for? you. One, does it solidify in the cold weather or once it cools, and two, does it go bad after a while? How do you guys store it?

Okay, now I’m ready for all things coconut: the tableta, cut-a-brute & coconut crush. I know the coconut oil will get hard if it is refrigerated which is what my mother does to keep it for a very long time. She would use a spoon to? scoop out how much she wanted for the dish she was making like boil up. How do you keep yours?

Hi Ange, It solidifies in the cold, so even overnight at my home with the thermostat set at 75 degree F it got a little bit harder, then during the day as the sun came out it was liquid again. During the Summer of course it is always in it’s liquid state. We store either in a plastic or glass bottle or jar and it? can last upwards of a year.

Joe did a great job at separating all the coconuts and making that coconut milk 🙂 I came? across a website with some traditional Belize food and there was something called Garnaches, flat fried corn circles with beans, cheese and onions. Do you make these?
