Coconut oil melts in your mouth and on your skin, neither of which are 111ºF… would have to side with Jack Needles on this. I consume about 1TB/day in morning with my fruit… warm slightly double-boiler style then drizzle over any raw chopped fruit…. YUM!!!

111 degrees? i wonder where he got that from? my coconut oil liquifies at 76 degrees in my kitchen and when it cools down at night it solidifies again. that’s odd, i wonder what he’s talking about?

well i think its great that you brought a different perspective on coconut oil whether it be positive or negative. i hear so much hype about coconut oil healthy and not so healthy so i really don/t know what to believe . it’s good to hear from a different point of view .

I’m using coconut oil on my skin and hair. Is this still ok?! I’ve only heard good things about it…

While watching your video I was eating coconut meat…
Why use the oil when you can just eat the meat?…It’s packed full of nutrients…
I eat one coconut a day to keep my hunger at bay :)….

      PEACE !!!

coconut oil melts at 76 degrees not 111 … but i think it makes sense that any fat (or anything else), taken out of a food and isolated and concentrated, can’t be very healthy …

I ran across a website that claims virgin coconut oil is good for thryoid issues.

I use about a half a teaspoon every morning when I cook or fry an omelet or pancake. I use two eggs, but only one yolk out of paranoia. I add wheat germ, quick oats, dry coarse garlic and about half a teaspoon Bragg liquid aminos. And spread out about the size of a small tortilla.

Slpit for two small tortillas in the small broiler with a half slice of american cheese to semi toasted with a small glass of OJ.

My cocnut oil turns to liquid around 90 degrees, so I don’t believe what he’s said about 111 degrees. Hmmm…

This guy is a mouthpiece for the drug industry. In my opinion,Virgin coconut oil is also a natural antibiotic that prevents infections from causing lesions that bring on the plaque to strengthen the weak (lesion) area.

    • roinipa

Isn’t it amazing how this guy comes across as so knowlegable but then completely blows the main point of his argument by stating the melting point of cocunut oil is 111 deg F, WRONG 76 deg. Just another hack.

check out underground wellness, he has a video on coconut oil and explains what type of fat it is. yes it’s saturated but it’s medium chain.. check it out

    • dnoll17315

This guy’s whole hypothesis is false because the melting point of coconut oil is 76 degrees and our body temp is ~92 degrees….

Therefore, coconut oil would be liquid after we eat it and that would make it healthy for us according to his argument! Dah!!!!

it’s the lauric acid the man talked about. The melting point of lauric acid IS 43.9 degrees C. So when your oil SEEMS liquid, the lauric acid will not be easily broken down since our body temperature is around 37 degrees C. Dah? Try to listen carefully please

No disrespect intended, but I’m wondering if the first “doctor” actually remembers much from his organic chem class. Lauric acid in its pure, isolated form is a powder & its mp is ~44-46 deg C. However, a fat molecule–>3 fatty acids attached to a glycerol head-> a triglyceride not just a “fatty acid”. These 2 molecules do not necessarily exhibit the same chem properties. CO does melt at 24 deg C, but it’s the triglyceride not the isolated fatty acid. Organic chem/biochemists, please advise.

first of all coconut doesn’t get into the blood stream like other oil. because its already broken down and taken in the livery.

    • waynebw

He implied at 4:15 that a low fat diet is healthier? FAIL .. BRB Eating my virgin coconut oil, which by the way melts on your skin so it is LIQUID in your body!

    • FM897

I know right! So unfortunate! And it doesn’t even take an expert to figure that out. The stuff melts almost instantly in your hand!

This guy is WRONG! Lauric Acid is in human breast milk! It’s great for you! Ever wonder why some of these raw food vegans look malnourished? Because they are clueless. Whole foods is key. Not just raw veggies. Harnessing fire was an evolutionary step that allowed for us to digest food easier. The problem is not cooking it’s overcooking. This vid is another example of garbage in garbage out. Retards. Coconut oil is not a step in the right direction. It is the right direction.
