Substituting lite coconut milk for regular milk in a white cake?


I want to make a cake for my daughters birthday. I wanted a flavored cake but I decided on a rainbow cake so I need a white base. I didn’t want to use just plain white cake, and I wanted to add a flavor to it. Do you think it would work if I substituted whatever the ingredients call for in milk, with a lite coconut milk to give it a coconut flavor to a box cake mix?

      There are recipes for improving white cake mix everywhere. I’m not quite sure about the coconut milk though.
