The Truth About Coconut Milk & Coconut Water http In this video, Ann Louise Gittleman, PhD, CNS answers a fan’s question about the pros and cons of coconut milk and coconut water. To answer this seemingly simple question, Ann Louise explains what benefits are to be found in coconut milk, including its anti-fungal and anti-aparasitic properties, but also explains why she doesn’t recommend it be used while on Phase 1 or Phase 2 of the Fat Flush plan. For example, while coconut milk does encourage healthy thyroid activity, it lacks certain essential fatty acids such as omega-3 or omega-6. At the same time, Ann Louise offers some helpful tips on how best to use coconut milk when it’s the proper time to incorporate it into your diet. She goes on to explain the benefits and drawbacks of consuming coconut water, and how it’s different from coconut milk. For example, did you know that coconut water is an excellent source of both potassium and electrolytes? This makes it an excellent beverage for the summer months when you are sweating more than usual and losing your body’s precious sodium.

Ann Louise, can you tell me if coconut water is appropriate for those in the beginning stages of a low copper diet? The nutritional information I’ve found on it? seems to say it has more zinc than copper, but I want to be sure. Thanks, I appreciate your work!
